Ulander Powder Blue and Power Ruby share the family characteristic of textured effect on their wide border and distinctive color. An intricate powdering technique is used to achieve the velvety, subtly stippled finish. It is only after six separate firings that each piece comes to deserve its Ulander name. The powder Blue tone was first achieved in 1912 and fifteen years later, the artists of Wedgwood were able to add the Powder Ruby tones to the Ulander family.
